iOS Dev Prep
Prepare for iOS interviews: Swift depth, concurrency, UIKit and SwiftUI, and mobile system design.
About this course
iOS interviews test your understanding of the platform as much as your coding ability. iOS Dev Prep covers the Swift language features interviewers probe, memory management and concurrency, UIKit and SwiftUI, and app architecture.
You'll practise iOS-specific coding problems and work through mobile system design case studies such as an offline-first feed and an image cache, so you can talk about the trade-offs that matter on a device: battery, memory, networking and app size.
What you'll learn
- Explain value vs reference types, protocols and generics in Swift
- Avoid retain cycles and explain ARC in depth
- Write safe concurrent code with GCD, async/await and actors
- Compare UIKit and SwiftUI and explain when to use each
- Structure apps with MVVM, coordinators and dependency injection
- Design offline-first networking and persistence layers
- Lead a mobile system design interview

Frequently asked questions
Does this cover SwiftUI or UIKit?
Both. Most companies still have large UIKit codebases while adopting SwiftUI, and interviews often ask you to compare them.
Which Swift version is used?
Swift 6, including strict concurrency checking.
Do I need a Mac?
Not for the course. Coding problems run in the browser workspace. A Mac with Xcode is useful for building the optional practice projects.
Should I also take DSA Prep?
Yes, if your target companies include an algorithmic round, which most large companies do.
